Meet Our Pastor and Staff

Senior Pastor  – Ali Haynes

It is with great honor and privilege that I came to Indian Heights as your new Pastor in July, 2018. It is interesting how God works in all our lives, calling us at times we least expect it.  I strongly believe in the work that God does in each of our lives and the power of the Holy Spirit with each of us every day. I encourage you all as we embark on our journey together at Indian Heights UMC to listen to God in your lives…to listen to how God may be working within each of you to say “yes” when it feels uncomfortable, when it feels like too much change, and when you just do not understand why it is happening. We are all called to be in this community of faith together, and I am here to be your Pastor, helping to navigate it all with you. God bless you all and know that you are loved, valued and enough.

Music Director – Cheri White

Cheri has an extensive background in church music ministry. She brings much enthusiasm and passion, encouraging musicians of all ages and skill levels to participate. Indian Heights UMC is blessed to have Cheri!!

Kids Worship and Outreach Coordinator –   Hannah Ebling-Artz

Hannah’s role is to staff the nursery/Sunday school room and help lead us in outreach for children and their families. Her previous experience include working in church nurseries, leading summer camps and Sunday school.  She is currently working for Kansas City Community Gardens, interacting with metro area schools and students of all ages. Hannah is seeking ordination as a deacon in the United Methodist Church. She is uniquely qualified to fill this new position and we are very excited that she has accepted the position. She is married to Parker.

Administrative Assistant – Suzette Mack

Suzette has served in an administrative capacity at churches for over ten years. She brings with her a wealth of creativity and compassion. Prior to working at a church, Suzette was an occupational therapist. She is a Stephen Minister and working on her master’s degree in social work. She is also a fiber artist and enjoys knitting prayer shawls, and helps out with the family business, “Caring Transitions in the Heartland”. When not in Kansas, she is most likely in Colorado or New Mexico, finding God and peace in the mountains and with family.

The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you. The Lord lift up the light of His countenance upon you and give you peace.

June 28, 2018: “And Craig was Smiling”

Be Brave: My faith journey; finding grace, mercy, love and healing in the midst of chaos: "And Craig was Smiling"    Continue Reading →

My name is Ali, and this is me. I am who I am and believe that God put me on this world to spread the Good News of Christ to all of God’s people. To let them know they are valued, they are worthy, and they are deserving of belonging. Our world is broken and my own story is one of abundance, belovedness, family, heartbreak, hope. If you like what you read…share it…if you don’t, that’s ok – we can still be friends. God bless…and always know YOU are loved, YOU are ENOUGH, and YOU BELONG.  ~ Pastor Ali
